Long Rod Insulators

Long rod porcelain insulators are premium ceramic solutions designed for overhead transmission lines, substations, and high-voltage systems. They deliver exceptional electrical insulation and mechanical reliability, outperforming conventional disc-string assemblies.

Key Features of Long Rod Insulators

Electrical Isolation

It prevents electrical current from leaking from energized power conductors to grounded support structures like steel towers.

Mechanical Strength

These units are engineered to withstand high tensile and compression loads, for ultra-high voltage (UHV) applications. It physically holds the weight and tension of high-voltage transmission lines, even under extreme conditions like wind or ice loading

Structural Composition

It is primarily made of high-quality aluminous porcelain (often C-130 grade per IEC 60672) fired at high temperatures to create a dense, non-porous body.

Puncture-Proof Design

Because the solid core has a dielectric breakdown strength several times higher than air, any potential flashover occurs outside the porcelain body rather than puncturing through it.

Technical Specifications and Capacity

Long Rod Insulators are available for a wide range of voltages of up to 765KV These insulators are used in high-voltage and extra-high-voltage substations.

Up to 35 MM/KV
